Total time - 13 minutes 37 seconds (you can't beat that!)

Time - my time in this run
15plx723 - Sedlo's time

After making a hell revealed movie (which took almost 2 months to make) i got tired and took
a break from dooming. Well, this was a huge one. Actually, i almost didnt have a time to play
at all. But now it is summer, the sun is shining and that's why it is hard for me to go to bed early.
Guess where i spend these additional two hours of eveningtime :) At first i picked Scythe as a
potential wad to record a TAS-run, but after finishing the first 11 maps in less than 2 minutes i
got bored and stopped. Later i thought about making a run through TNT, but it was opposite -
many maps take minutes to finish, and waiting 45+ secs for prboom to run and skip to the current
map on my ancient computer wouldn't be funny. I've quit the idea of making a run, but as time passed
by, i slowly changed my mind again. It happened when i was rewatching Sedlo's 15plx723.lmp
(for a millionth time probably). It really is an astonishing movie, and that was the main reason
why i avoided recording on plutonia earlier - the idea of trying to cope with Marijo's skills seemed
insane to me (even with tools-assistance). And continuing his run looked like defiling the sacred.
But anyway, while watching the demo, i've noticed a pair of shortcuts, saving more than 10 seconds
each. And that was the day when i took my pl01-009 as a starting point and began to work =)

map01: I got a 10:03 after an hour, the last two tics were hard to cut out, but i managed to afterall.
I guess it took me 2 more hours. But hey, it was worth it !

map02: A copy of Sedlo's run, no new tricks here.

map03: A-ha, look at this little hole we got here. Step aside mr. Revenant, i gotta try to squeeze
through! This is a strange map. I got a 41:xx , then improved it to 40:7x, then rerecorded again
to get 39:31 which is definitely improvable. Anyway, it is a good run.

map04: Another copy. Mystical power stopped all my wallrun attempts, i don't know why they
didn't work :S

map05: Rather slow glide, but it's ok. I'm kind of surprised that it's 3 whole seconds faster,
considering i've recorded it in like 30 minutes.

map06: Waiting waiting waiting. Waiting for the barrels to explode so they dont burn your <paste
favourite bodypart here>, waiting for the door to close (at the button), waiting for the doors to open
in the end. That's how my first run looked like. Then i checked if i could leave any of these out. And
yes, i could :) I don't wait for the blue door to close, i close it myself! Genial! (hehe)
It saved one second, and that's when i became satisfied with my time here.

map07: Quite hard glide, it is very random and usually you have to spend few seconds to get through,
and then you get a flight to an opposite side. I had to rocket myself in a face a bit to get a good fall, and
it prevented me from SSGing chainers. At first i got :15 by killing chainies with a rocket and then getting more
boost by another rocket, but it led to a huge armor loss. Then i tried to conserve health using different
tactics of avoiding chainies, and finally ended up using only one rocket. Satisfied with a time, because
i couldnt even guess that i would be able to beat Sedlo's 0:16. Though it took two days :P

map08: Pretty fast! Strangely enough, the glide was hard to do, i've spent more than an hour on it and
had to redo it again, but hey, it wasnt frustrating =) Thanks to AV, he acted immediately on the first try.
That's what i call a teamwork!

map09: I remember that once i have checked the teleport place in wadauthor and it "seemed" too thin to
glide through. Yea, i can't count to 32 as many of you could notice :). I was wrong of course, and it was a
nice surprise for me to "find" that trick. The level became very short, but it was fun to run. Chainies caused
some pain at first, but 30 minutes of retries fixed that problem. The glide was quite hard too, spent 2 hours
on it.

map10: Very easy. I should have used regular shotgun instead of SSG to kill chainers more efficiently though.

map11: Nice map to run. I guess strafe50 on turns helped quite a bit here, and almost no improvement comes
from sharp turns. On the first try i released all the AVs thinking that it would be easy to avoid them. It wasn't. They
were slowing me down at every corner. So i had to retry and prevent their teleporting. It leads to ~0.3 time loss
(because of not-so-sharp-turn), but there is no need to care about them later, so it kind of evens out :)

map12: Ok, this one is too hard to improve. Should be possible in a built demo.

map13: Glides look very cheaty, at least for me :) Wasn't hard to do, and pretty fast. You should spend no more
than 0.1sec on each glide to get 11:97 with the same running in other places, so i gave up the idea of improving,
but it's possible with building (like if other maps aren't improvable with it :P )

map14: I hoped to finish this bitchy map as quick as possible. I mean, i didnt want to play it at all and 0:15 would
have been enough for me, but luckily i've got a better time here.

map15: This is another map which was done in a hurry, so i really have nothing to say here. Not that bad anyway.

map16: Damn slow, i was tired of this stupid lift, it acted weirdly. But i decided to go on just to make a test run, then
made an AV jump in a few tries, finished the map. And started recording further. After a few days i've noticed that
my time here is 0:23 while a compet-n record is 0:20. Hello?! Yes, only then i've remembered that i've finished the
test run and never tried to improve. I've simply forgot to! Pretty smart from my side, don't you think? Let's move
on map17 already :)

map17: Spent 2 hours trying to blast myself as efficient as possible. The sargeant kept blocking me again and
again, but finally he gave up. Optimal i think.

map18: Ooh, this was very hard. For some reason, archie wasn't in cooperative mood and it took me 3 hours to
get attacked by him immediately. The AV jump itself isn't supergood, some 0.1 can be cut at least =) In my first
"archie-was-quick-to-start-burning-me" attempt i polished the jump for an hour to end up with 6:00, which i couldn't
improve. Happy to finally break the limit. I'm sure this one is optimal either.

map19: Everything went as i wanted to, and the glide was built just in 3 minutes.

map20: Fairly boring map comparing to previous ones. No tricks, pure running all the time. I've spent some time
trying to "wallglide" the fences in the room over the last one. Check out 21-22s of the demo to understand where
they are. Had no luck with it. To tell the truth, i'm sure the glides are impossible since there are no acute angles,
just perpendicular ones.

map21: Haha, shortie! I remember the times when i used to play this map alot. I was 7 or something, and it was
the only plutonia map which i liked (TNT seemed much funnier, it had new music and the levels were 10 times
easier). It took me half of the day to finish it on hurt me plenty and i saved&loaded after every step. In fact, i started
a real plutonia invasion only after playing quake1, when i was a mouser already and have had my skills trained in
bot battles. I haven't finished any other map (but this one) before that.

map22: I really wanted to catch the lift on the first rise, but there is no place where i could shave this excess
second off. Rocket boost doesnt help either. Well, the other parts are ran nicely i think.

map23: Good map, good run. Though going under 1min is possible, i suppose. This map is a good example of
how even the most crowded plutonia maps can be ran easily without slowdowns. Comparing to hr, it was a
heaven to record at. It belongs to maps with balanced action, bfg shooting, tight monster avoiding, gliding and
long corridor running - just what i need =)

map24: Both archies cooperated nicely. Didn't take long to record, which is nice :)

map25: I had some troubles with HKs at first and despite of many retries they kept blocking the way. Today i
got up, ran doom and got an excellent cooperation on the first try. Nice run i think.

map26: The glide hasn't caused much problems, neither monsters were annoying. At first i settled with 0:40, but
decided to push the time a little further. 2 rocket boosts and additional hour and half of 9% slowmoing did the job.

map27: Nice time. The idea of the level is to reach then button as quick as possible and then you can run wherever
you want, because there is a ~28secs of waiting for the lift to raise. So, the actual running takes only ~15secs. I use
a rocket boost at the start to reach a teleport faster, other than that it's the basic route.

map28: Weird map, i can't run normally here. Always tend to shake :) This is also a first map with active BFG usage,
heh. I have a feeling the time isn't optimized at all, but i'll leave it as it is.

map29: Traditionally, 29th level is done in a hurry. I've checked the possibility of few tricks, and had to use normal
route. Simple running, nothing new.

map30: AV jump was invented on-the-fly (yeh, suddenly he blasted me and i almost overflew the lowering platform),
and the trick about flipping switch and catching the platform was known for years, but have never been performed as
far as i know. Making both tricks led to such a good time. Hey, and look at this total time i got now! ^_^

Conclusion:
I have strange feelings about the movie. On the first glance, it contains _alot_ of glides, rocket boosts, jumps and simple
route improvements. But once watched more thorougly, it is seen that many maps could easily be improved ~1sec
down, - e.g. 2,3,14,15,16 and others. I mean, of course everything is improvable, but these particular maps (and few others)
are too imperfect. I have just been lazy to spend these additional 30-40 minutes to polish the turns and running. And
map16 nonsense is very stupid too. I wanted this movie to be a top-quality, now there are some fails here and there
throughout all of it. Anyway, i'm proud of this recording and hope you liked it. And i hope there will be a day when one of
you thinks "hey, isn't this a shortcut saving full 10 seconds?" and builds&TASes the hell out of my run :)
At this moment i don't have any plans on recording anything, but i'm sure i'll come up with something pretty soon. Still
not sure what it would be (the only thing i'm sure about is that it wouldn't require smooth demo playback for comfortable
wattching), time will tell. But now, just enjoy the movie!
